I'm not talking about other people's trees though, but my tree on ancestry has a lot of hypothetical stuff in that I wouldn't put into my master tree in gramps, it's just in my ancestry tree to make searching for more records easier.

The odds of introducing errors are much greater than the odds of catching a wrong transcription or other problem with the digital record.
Oct 21, 2012 at 17:38 | comment | added | TomH | Avoiding errors is one reason why I do like to do it manually - my gramps tree is my carefully curated record with everything properly evidenced while my ancestry tree has lots of auto added stuff that may not have been fully checked.

Oct 21, 2012 at 17:16 | comment | added | bstpierre | @GeneGolovchinsky: it sounds like you're looking for an automatic import. What is the source of the data that you'd be importing from? I.e. you have to tell gramps to take the data from somewhere -- where do you want to point it?
