I'm wondering if anyone knows if there are archives which contain Polish passport applications or Hungarian passport applications from respective consulates in New York between 1900 and 1940. Would they be available in any archives in Poland and/or Hungary/Sweden, or does such a collection likely not exist?

In terms of Hungary, according to Rodakiewicz, Erla (1919) Foreign-born: A Bulletin of International Service (page 22) and A Guide to the United States' History of Recognition, Diplomatic, and Consular Relations, by Country, since 1776: Hungary from the Office of the Historian at the US State Department's website, there was not a Hungarian consulate in New York until 1922.

Here is an example of a Hungarian passport issued by the Swedish Legation in 1920.
