Any one have knowledge of the 23rd Light Dragoons who fought at the Battles of Talavera & Waterloo?

My G/G/G/G/Dad William King was the trumpet Major to the regiment

His Son fought alongside his father at Waterloo also named William a Trumpeter

Would that be unique or were there other Father & Sons at Waterloo?

There appears to be very little archives or this Regiment. I do believe they were disbanded 1817 at Weymouth Radipole Barracks.

Hello, and welcome. As it stands this isn't a good fit for this the site -- we like specific focussed questions. What exactly is it you want to know avout the 23rd Light Dragoons? – ColeValleyGirl Dec 19 '18 at 16:59

If you are after general historical information about the 23rd Light Dragoons, then you'd be better with a specific military history forum such as napoleonicwarsforum.com Even there, it would be sensible to have a specific question and a good one might be, "Are there books describing the story of the 23rd Light Dragoons up to and including Waterloo?" What you don't want to do is sound like you're asking for a brain dump. I actually have no idea of the chances of there being a regimental history so you might need to widen your scope to any LDs and/or the specific battles. – AdrianB38 Dec 19 '18 at 18:50
  • This seems to be asking two questions "Where to find records for 23rd Light Dragoons?" and "Did more than one Father and Son set fight at Waterloo?" I think that you should focus this question on the first of those. Then I think you should ask the second question as a new question. – PolyGeo Dec 20 '18 at 1:41
